to KSDB's Alumni Page! Through the past 55 years, KSDB has had many faces and names, but its mission has remained the same— education and service. Our mission, along with a solid K-State work ethic, has led to our success. KSDB's work has been recognized repeatedly throughout the years. In 2004 alone, KSDB won two national awards from College Broadcasters, Inc. and the Broadcast Educators Association. Along with national recognition, KSDB has dominated the Kansas Association of Broadcasters' student awards since 2000. In spring 2004, KSDB won 25 student awards, beating out KU's college radio station's mere 7. You built the foundation for this success, you should take pride in what KSDB has become. As you well know, KSDB has pulled itself up by the bootstraps, reinventing itself, making it stronger and more viable each time . From 10 watts to 1400, Nicholls Gymnasium to McCain Auditorium to the K-State Student Union, KSDB has survived technical and emotional challenges. Today, KSDB stands at the edge of another challenge and we need your help to flourish. Our news and sports department urgently needs upgrading. Most of the equipment is 30 years old and has matured past its usefulness. Plans are made for the KSDB News and Sports Center that will be a costly venture. The minimum need is $60,000 but the full upgrade carries a price tag of $150,000. All of the proceeds raised through the 55th Anniversary Weekend will go to bankroll the upcoming renovation.
